The track
Coos Bay Speedway sits just off Highway 42, a short drive from town. It is a 3/8 mile semi-banked dirt oval with a drag strip, and it has been the home of South Coast racing for generations of families.
On a given weekend you might catch Friday night drags, Saturday oval racing under the lights, mud drags, or a full monster truck show. Gates open at 4, racing starts at 6, and kids 6 and under always get in free.
It is loud, it is dusty, and it is the kind of place where the whole family knows the flagger by name. Come see a night of it.
